i have an 03 focus.a month after i got the car,everytime i would fill it up it would go to E and wouldnt go back up untill 20-40 miles later.......now when i fill up the neddle will go to E and the after i drive 10 miles it will change randomly every time i shut the car off and than back on......does anyone know what the problem may be???? because im getting tired of reseting the trip odometer every time i fill up.........[]

sounds to me your sending unit is going out or has gone out.i think that its in the tank along with your fuel pump.

fuel sender unit has probably failed.. or is in the process of failing lol!

I agree as well but also because of the randomness you should check the harness and connector for frayed, cracked or damaged wires, and also the connector for damage, coroded or dirty pins.
