Yes. I believe it comes on when distance to empty reaches 80km (50 miles), but it might have been lower.

Yes a small yellow idiot light comes on in the gauge cluster when you have about (high average) 2 gallons/(low average) 1.2 gallons.. Somehhere in there.. It is not exactly the same across all the cars, but for the specific car it will come on at the same amount of gas left.
