I did my starter back in March of this year due to the gear on the starter not retracting which created a lot of bark/screech at startup. Reman'ed Duralast fixed that. Now that the cold weather is here, I notice on cold starts in the morning (around 20F) the car will bite a little bit more when starting, a few second go by, then I can hear another bite, then nothing, then a quick bite.

This lasts for about 5-6 seconds. So it sounds like the starter gear is still spinning after the car has been started and occasionally meshing/hitting the flywheel. Cause for concern right as this might damage the flywheel on my AT Focus? Sounds like that gear is failing to retract. It has a warranty on the part, limited lifetime. Does anyone know if Autozone tests these before warranty service is initiated? Ideally I want them to have the part, I drop of mine and then off I go.
