I am going to install the ford racing intake mani on my zetec engine this weekend.I have the generation 1.Is there anything I should know about the install before I get into it?
I have read a few things in the forum but cant tell what applies to the new F.R.I.M. and what aplies to the old(gen. 1).
The mounting holes are slotted...I think to work on the svt head but other that that I cant see any other modification to the intake.
Any help or hints would be great.
thanx

you"ll need slim line injectors as your stock 1 won't fit to well and fuel will come out.
Also the wiring harness will be a tight fit and 1 wiring harness that goes to the head is hard to get to, if you have big hands you'll have problems

There's alot of dickin around taking the stock 1 off and the FR manifold is tight to fit back in.
Make sure you don't have the TB and IACV on the manifold as you won't get it in.
Have a read of this

i think if you modify the fuel rail mounting legs the stock fuel supply system will work...or so ive been told
That's true as well but, what I'm talking about is the fuel will come out from the manifold not the fuel rail if you don't have the right injectors, stock injectors won't work.
I did this on the w/end and push the same size but new injectors in as far as I could and had this problem.

I'm getting the pro's to add my FR manifold in next week because of this problem.
Going to buy the FR cnc'd tonight
