You can get the most up to date information on this build at the FocusRush blog at http://focusrush.com/blog/p4-5/
Here's what I got.
It's a 2003 Ford Focus ZX3 Zetec and it belongs to my rommate. I'm the one that convinced him to get a focus, I have repaired and mintained it for him for the past three years and now he has deployed. I am also the one that convinced him to join the military (I said Navy, he went Army, and now he's picking sound out of every orphus).
Anyways, He has entrusted me with his car and has asked me to do a few repairs to it while he is gone for the next year or so.
My plan is to go well beyond that and make it into his dream focus with your help and the help of some local businesses. That way, he won't have to worry about his less than stellar car when he gets home. The transition back home can be just as, if not more difficult, than the transition into combat.
Here is what it looks like today (don't be fooled by the photo, it's a turd up close)
And after speaking with him about theoretical future mods with him over the past few months, here is what it will look like when it's done:
Check out the blog for the complete list of planned modifications and repairs. I am very thankful to the local focus community that has already pledged their man-hours to help with any repairs and modifications that will be done in the garage, and I am thankful to the body shop that has pledged to do ALL of the body work for FREE!
Please let me know if you have anything that you would like to contribute to this project. I'm truly hoping that this project is something that entire focus community can get behind.
