I think he's asking what he needs to convert his non-RS into a RS look-alike. If so you'll need:

External:

Front fenders
Rear quarter panels
Front & rear bumpers
Wheels
Headlights, foglights and indicator lights for both bumpers
Possibly suspension if you want the wheels to sit the way they do on a real RS.

Internal:

Steering wheel
Shift knob
E-brake handle
Gauge cluster
Seats
Pedals
Possibly other trim items (?)

If you want to make it the same in terms of performance, you'll need:

Savlaged RS engine and transmission, otherwise a turbo kit and gear ratio change
RS suspension, including entire front/rear assemblies (if you want it to handle like a true RS)
RS brakes, spindles & axles

I think that's about it...ask around, there's a few other guys on here who have done/are doing RS conversions.

It should be a direct swap but you would need the donor car as you will need almost all the wiring and pretty much everything else off of the car to make it work as it should.

I wonder if it going to be our good old friend... uh... what was his name? Had an RS, painted it black and silver... then crashed it and bought an SE-R... ???

Good luck with that. We'd love to see it!!!

whoa this is completely different from what he was thinking. we were all thinking you were referring to the focus RS not an escort Rs. i personnaly know nothing about the escort.

wow I read through this it makes perfect sense
he has a focus, and wants to convert it to an RS
that's about it, if you can get a wrecked RS then you're set
as long ad engine and tranny are still good
hope the brembo brakes are ok, and that the wiring is good
nice escort by the way, good luck

Definately get the whole crashed vehicle- that will make the conversion much easier because there are surely little things that you'd never imagine that you'd need if you just went to a salvage yard and picked up a motor and transmission.

For example, if the fuel pump is a larger flow version, or the fuel lines are larger- you'd need the wrecked car. If you didn't have the wrecked car- you wouldn't know until you couldn't get it to run- or worse- run lean and BOOM.
