More to do,see, talk about than time to do it.

Hotel parking lot becomes a car show, so it starts as soon as you show up Friday.

FULL day out in the Sun on Sat. is what you need to survive, so prepare for that. Folding chair to sit by your car in the show & take a break can be handy, even a golf umbrella for shade might be handy.

Car show, drags, auto-X, that type of thing to participate in as much as you want.

After all day in the Sun, there's still a banquet, awards show, and hangin' out as long as you can with the buddies you make.

A few do something on Sun. as well before taking off again.

VERY short description, but that's the basics.

There are plenty of door prizes, swap meet action, vendor displays/sales - quite a circus.

here is a link to the host hotel. This is where most of the folks will be staying. There is a group rate set up under FocusFest.

Host hotel is the center for before & after hours activities, starting Fri. as the initial meet & greet. Best place to be unless space runs out, then another in walking distance can suffice. Had to do that at the first one I attended.

Name tags might be Dorky, but I'd do something on those lines after attending without. Pin something on a hat to what a Bud did once - last minute white T-Shirt with a Magic Marker creation drawn on it.

IMHO it's all too easy to learn faces, maybe even names, and NOT be able to put them together with folks you see here. Get to the end and wish you'd been able to learn more/put them together for future reference in your head.

Introductions by real name are common - try to put it together with usernames from here!

I've met more I remember than I can recognize again online, and it's frustrating.

^^^^At a St Louis FF I climbed in and ran the A/C for a bit once to cool off, and at a Pittsburgh Vintage GP the sun was bad enough to walk around with the golf umbrella.

Threatening clouds nearby as an excuse to carry it, sun shade use was a real bonus.

No point proving you can take it, hat & shades at least handy plus sunscreen.

Should i bring my own case of water with me for Saturday? Or will i be able to buy water at the event???
Plan on bringing it with you. Last year we were unable to have the track provide concessions. We are still working out some of those details, but I would expect no concessions again.

With that said, last year Lou brought a pedo van full of water for the banquet [wiggle]

I wore a TeamZX2 hat that had my forum name embroidered on the back by the adjusting strap. I'd rock a FocusFest hat or visor if names could be on the back of them. I think I only paid like $15 for it.

I believe it was 'banned' if I remember, at least if you were in the show.

But he didn't decorate it....so it's not a pedi van like it was in Memphis.

There were a couple canopies spread throughout last year. More on the side of the lot but there were groups sitting together. It was great weather.

it wasn's the intent to 'ban' the tents. The goal was just to keep them off to the side and out of the way of the cars. it made for a 'cleaner' show field, and got a few more cars in there. We will space out the cars a little better this year!
