A while back I was wondering the same thing. I can't recall but it was either a Tracer SPI or an earlier Focus SPI dipstick that was about an inch or so longer.

i need this car running by monday so i just bought one from the dealer for 12.55.

I am almost done with my engine overhaul but there is a sensor that has no place to be plugged in, it is by the crankshaft positioning sensor it is circle.

Does anyone know what it is?

May need a little more information or a picture but as I recall the only connectors by the crank positioning sensor are: the oil pressure switch and the knock sensor - both on the back side of the block.

man thats sad if your doing something differant to your car go with it big like a zetec up grade or something or something that will last but you deffinately want to get the right part if its on your engine!but on the other hand if your doing something differant just for the sake of something to think about i supprt you 100% fallow your instincts bud!!!!

Sounds like the knock sensor to me
