Anyone know what to do to improve radio reception on an indoor CD boom box? At work, I work in the basement, which it seems is where they put a lot of IT people, and can not get good radio reception. I have thought about external antennas, but the ones I have seen at retail locations have a coax connection for TV's. Does anyone know if a dipole antenna would work and how would I connect it?

The boombox in my lab has a piece of tinfoil wrapped around the antenna, sticking perpendicular out from the antenna. Seems to help?

I placed some foil on the end of the antenna and it acually helped. I then took a dipole antenna and placed it on top of the other antenna with the foil on it and everything sounds MUCH cleaner! Thanks.

The cheap radio i use in my garage gets crappy reception. The antenna broke off so i rammed a flathead screwdriver in there that i dont use anymore. Im sure in foil would work fine as well. Maybe a bent coat hanger?
