Hello Everybody [:D]

Hey, If I drop my tranny pan (2.0L SPI '03) for my 30K service:

1. How much fluid will need replaced (qts)
2. What % of the total fluid will I be changing?

Side note: When new, the tranny dipstick read overfilled (in N with car running). What's up with that.

Thanks again!

You will get less than 3 of the 7 qts out through the pan. Only way to change all the fluid is with a fluid exchange machine that hooks up to the cooler lines.

Did it!

Dropped the pan.

Purchased a new pan at the dealer (only like $25 bucks), filter, and a tube of RTV they use (I called 3 dealers and they all use RTV - Don't know why, since gaskets are available thru autozone and the like).

Took nearly 4 qts of Mercon to replace.

Maybe I got more out cause I let it drip for like an hour.

Anyway, I am still confused about the level when I purchased the car. Has anyone checked their factory fill and find it high?

How accurate can that yellow thingy on the tranny dipstick be. I mean, man, it turns like a crazy straw to get down in there.

I know I'm throwing alot at the wall. Just lookin' for some feedback from you guys.

Thanks.[thumb] [8D]
