Since changing the ignition coil on my 2.0 zetec 1999 focus my car has suffered with poor acceleration. I have changed the plugs and leads. Cleaned the mass air flow sensor. The car runs smooth but has no acceleration. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Thankyou for the replies.

I have not changed the connector. However I did disconnect the battery in order to reset the maf sensor and that seems to have helped a bit.

Does using oem coil pack or a copy make a difference. Is the same part used regardless of engine size.

i think if you upgrade anything or replace somthing like that your supposed to unplug the battery for 5 minutes or longer to reset the ecu to learning mode so it will learn the new set up because coil packs release less voltage as they go out and now the new one puts out more so you need the ecu to learn this

so far from what i understand is factory is the best but it does make a difference if you buy aftermarket or factory some produce more voltage and some just say they do
