Hey guys, this from the ST forum. Pretty cool and I'm sure Matt will be happy to extend the promo to non-ST mk3s.

Hello gang! My name is Matt, I'm known by the same handle over on the FiestaSTForum. For my feedback on the other forum, please visit: Ford Fiesta ST Forum

As a part time gig, I create 3rd brake light flashers for ST/RS models. Between Facebook and the FiestaSTForum I have successfully helped out over 75 ST owners add-on the flasher unit. The flasher contains a microprocessor which detects when the brake pedal is pressed, causing the 3rd brake light to flash at a slow or fast speed 4 times before going solid.

Why do I need this?
- Grabs drivers attention, responding faster to quick braking
- Reduces chances of other drivers tailgating, lowering your chances of being in a rear-end collision
- California DOT recently required all new vehicles to have a flashing 3rd brake light

How does it work?
There is a microprocessor module with 3 wires, power, constant power and a ground. The module detects when you brake and causes the brake light to flash 3 times before going solid. After 10 seconds it will blink again.

How do I install it?
All you have to do it use a T20 torx bit to remove the 3rd brake light from the spoiler, pull out the wiring, cut the power wire (blue/white) a few inches away from the light connector, splice in the black power wire to the vehicle end of the power wire, splice in the yellow power wire to the connector end. Use the bullet quick splice to add the connector to the black/purple ground wire, squeeze closed and plug in the black wire from the flasher into the quick splice connector.

How does the flashing sequence work?
For those wondering how the flash sequence works, check out the videos below to see the difference between the slow and fast flash speeds.

How do I buy?
Go to my website www.stbrakeflashers.com, click the Shop Now button to be taken to the product page. On the slow and fast flasher pages includes a demo video showing the flasher speed and a description. Enter GROUPBUYSLOW or GROUPBUYFAST during checkout to get the group buy special price. If you purchase on the site, please let me know so I can add you to the list below.

When will I receive my flasher?
The turn around time is usually 2 weeks or less once the group buy ends. Depending on interest, I will keep it open for 2-3 weeks, maybe the end of the month if it's very successful.

Slow flashing

Fast flashing

INTRODUCTORY GROUP BUY PRICE IS $35 PER FLASHER. REGULAR PRICE IS $45.

Thank you very much for posting this! I was rear-ended back in September and have been looking for something like this to hopefully prevent it from happening again!

Is there a video showing the light in operation with the vehicle engine running? From what I understand some models have an issue after they started the car.

This one should be up in the Group Buys & Special Deals section soon. Positive feedback on approval.

This thread will be merged to it there.

Thanks for posting this on here for me. If anyone has any questions let me know, this will work on all model Focus hatchbacks with no issues. It will work on sedans as well.
From the description it says it will blink every 10 seconds if the brakes are held. So if you're sitting stopped at a red light, it will continue to flash? I would think that would really annoy anyone sitting behind you.

That sounds great!
If they're annoyed at least that means they can see you. lol

I always worry I'm going to get hit when I'm waiting to turn left into work.
It's after a bend in the road and sometimes I have to wait a while for opposing traffic before I can turn.

Yo, I posted a message on the actual fiestast group buy page. When you get a chance, do you mind taking a look?

Some posters over at the focusrs and candlepower forums are saying that this isn't as legal as it may appear from some other posts.

I'm looking into this before I buy. Will keep you posted if I find out anything

FYI, FWIW this is just an overpriced repackaging of 3rdbrakeflasher.com/brake-light-flasher-c-65/universal-brake-light-flasherstrober-s1-model-p-191.html which sells for $15 USD

I could see a small charge for the connectors included / installed but $35 is steep... $45 is an absolute rip off.

3rdbrakeflasher.com also sells a bunch of other models which are fully customizable to any timing solutions you need.

If you don't believe me, look at the two side by side. It's identical down to the product casing and even the color coding of the wires.

I think I know the answer, but, here goes.

Will this work on my 4 door SE model?

I don't live in California, but we have lots of people here from there. Unfortunately, lots of them want to make "here" like it was "there" and they couldn't take it "there" any more. Go figure.
