I couldn't wait to see what only 122,000 miles did to the lifetime filter. But first I went to the junkyard and found the non PZEV filter assembly for $16.00 you can buy them new on Rock Auto for like $75 this way I can at least change the filter. Glad I did it.

Only issue that comes up is the MAF sensor wire is a little short so you have to clip some of the zip ties to loosen it up to give some slack. And make sure the arrow is going the right direction on the MAF sensor. Or you will get a check engine light

Life of factory 100k mile Duratec air filters depends greatly on regional environmental conditions. For example, if you like in Southwest with very dusty conditons it might be ready at 50k, but in Northeast it might be fine for 100k plus miles. Somebody did a test many years ago on a 100k filter and it was still breathing/flowing just fine.
