I've finally found an svt engine for sale. the guy total it out (got rear ended) and so now he is parting it out. he says he will let me get the engine for around 1500 dollars. anyways, i'm buying it. But i have a couple of questions.

1. Will the svt work better with the six speed or the 5 speed?

2. It is direct bolt-it correct?

3. What other parts should i take with the engine? (ie. rear disc brakes, svt gauges)

4. Will my steeda short shifter fit?

All help would be greatly appreciated.

First off you may as well buy the whole car.

No the engine will not bolt up to the tranny without modification.

You would also need the entire wiring harness and ECU etc.

No your short shifter will not fit.

If I were you, I would get the engine, tranny, axles and just about everything on the car. Buy the whole thing.

think about it...
you only need 40 hp to have the same as the svt....
and with 1000 you can do that....
save the 500 for suspension...

No SVT for you, only SVT for me. [hihi]

That does seem like a steep price for the motor - how many miles are on it?

sortof on topic, kinda not.
What makes the SVT such a different motor? I mean, if it only has 40 more HP why is it so much better. i know it looks nicer, has 4 wheel disc, better rims, 6 speed tranny, and interior comsmetics, but what makes the engine different?

the engine has a higher compression of 10:2:1, it has a aftermarket quality header, a better flowing head, and a better intake manifold. It is also built stouter than the normal ZETEC.

eh,i wouldnt its so much stouter, for 1500 you can spank SVTs in the 1/4, and a little more $$ you can do alot more
