So I want to paint mine black and I'm going to use plastidip. Can I just mask off the car around them and paint or should I take them off?

That's what a guy here in Houston did, heck you can even spray and wipe off what you don't want. But some of the vents are bolted/pinned in place so paint it while it's on the car and save yourself some aggravation.

Seriously haha I have a silver car with a flat black grille and black headlights, soon to be black wheels, need MOAR black haha

I just taped em off,chemical, and sprayed. came out pretty well.

That's sick! You should go with those black wheels with a red pinstripe around the side too I feel like. Some tint. Tie it all together with a dark red grille haha

HaHa. Yah I definitely need to tint still just hasn't been on my must do yet. And I actually never thought about sprayin the grill that'd actually look awesome with the flake. Anybody got ideas on rims? It's about to be lowered 1.5 inches with that FSWERKS package so definitely no bigger than 18". And back to the topic; If you look closely at the vents there's chrome on the inside where the black used to be. I did that by scraping off the stock black with is actually a vinyl or something with a razor blade. The hardest thing to do is the masking but you should be able to push some paper or plastic under the vent to stop it from bleeding. The most Important part is to be sure to spray some compound first in order to make sure the paint sticks evenly. No body wants a bloody paint job.

BTW, has anyone had the idea of taking apart their tails and head lights and painting the chrome? Kind of like on the Honda Fit lights? If I do spray the grill it might be cool to see how different color headlights and tail lights would flow.

And as for size, 17 for show, 16 for go. I'm planning to drop with h&r coilovers to 16 inch rims with a 45-50 series tire, haven't decided yet

maybe paint the chrome part of the vent black to match the black in the wheels along with some black projector headlights

a lot of people have opened up there headlights and painted them black (Im about to) as for the Taillights that I dont know, but I want to paint them as well. Let us know if you do!

If you don't like that route, ebay projectors come in black for anywhere from $200-300 ha and you can then use HIDs

Thinkin I'm gonna have to update my sways before I drop cash on lighting haha. However! I am in the middle of a huge project and it's getting complicated. Has anyone wired in and amped new components? Usually the weather tubing just holds wire but in this platform it as some star connection thing! It makes it incredibly difficult to wire in a hi/low converter and pass wire to the components... I just dropped massive money on infintys and a new amp and converter. ideas? I know... wrong thread but this one's active so hey.

i think you should be the guy that changes it up, color match the vents and the headlights! i think it'd look awesome. not to say the black doesn't look good, but maybe you can start a new trend?

Yah I guess I kinda forgot the tails are red huh. I think there's a bit of chrome in there though, can't quite remember. I bet if I cut those bars in front of the headlights, sanded em smooth and then sprayed em red with the grill it's look Pretty clean haha. Always got projects in store for this thing. haha

Just make sure it's the same red as on the side and I think it would look great.
