are all the exterior lights supposed to come on whenever any door or the trunk/hatch is opened.?
i can see the interior lights coming on but all the parking lights, license plate light, etc..
why? it's not needed nor necessary and if u wanted to be stealthy for some reason it's no dice... the whole world will know u opened ur door or trunk/hatch.

What is the purpose of all these lights coming on? seems silly to me. and, as well, if u have the doors open for any length of time for whatever reason, it's a drain on the battery.

The only lights that go on are the running lights or whatever they're called (turn signals, basically). The headlights/brake lights don't go on. It's not a drain on anything.

And what reason would you have to be stealthy when getting into your car? That's not exactly anywhere near the top of the list for car manufacturers.

no not on the '01 zx3... on the '12 SEL
just seems silly to have all the lights go on for no purpose at all....
