"Next time you're wandering through a vast parking lot, looking for your car, there's a weird strategy you can try: hold your remote unlocking device up to your head.

It might sound pretty crazy, but it will actually extend the device's range a bit — perhaps causing your car to light up, letting you more easily find it.

We were skeptical too, but a few physicists have actually conducted some experiments that prove it's true."

Been doing this for years, only I hold the transmitter up to my chin, not my head Works all the same. I guy I met probably 20+ years ago worked at a shop that did audio and alarm installations, back in the day when Clifford Alarms were popular. That should give you an idea how long ago that was, anyway he showed me that trick and I thought he was crazy. He seemed actually kind of crazy to begin with, so it seemed fitting that he was holding a transmitter to his chin while unlocking a customer's car remotely. I tried it myself, somewhat embarrassed for looking like a fool, but sure enough...it worked! So basically the idea is you're a walking, talking, human antenna. I find myself using this trick when I'm searching for my car in a crowded parking lot. It's also handy with the remote start feature when you want to warm up or cool down your car before you arrive with a shopping cart full of groceries.

Good post. Thanks for passing this on, I'm sure a lot of people weren't even aware of this strange but useful tip.

I do this all the time as well, it has worked with so many of my friends fobs and mine. I look extra weird doing it, because for some reason in my mind i believe that opening your mouth towrds the direction you want the waves to go helps.[screwy][dunno]
