my 02 svt has i think a 2.5in exhaust all the way. My friend told me that in order to run a turbo on that exhaust i would have to remove the cat. the resinator. and possibly the muffler.

Is he correct?

you can keep them but if your thinking of going turbo you should upgrade to 3" from the turbo back

naw, you don't need a 3 inch, 2.5 is fine, but it depends on how much boost. and yes, you can run a turbo on whats there, but it may blow out ur cat. you don't need to remove the resinator or the muffler though!!

ok well i need to pass emissions so taking the cat out is not an option and dont think ill have enough to buy a new one.

So, now the question is should i go SC or N2O. I do some 1/8 and 1/4 and some highway runs.

here is what you do. since you WILL have to make a custom DP for the turbo setup, just make two, one with a cat and the other without. use the one without for everyday use, and when it comes time to take her in for emissions, swap it out. problem solved. then find you a nice 2.5" exhaust with a muffler and call it a day.
