exhaust time
im considering removing one of my exhaust resonators. i realise i will actually gain some power if i get a proper cat-back but im not too worried about the extra 6hp or so (and i cant stump up $300 atm). i just want a little bit of noise to make my car a bit more fun.
it seems everyone is removing the resonator at the very end but has anyone taken out the long fat one near the back of the exhaust? how does it sound with that taken out? i dont want to remove both because i dont want to get arrested for noise pollution. i'd like a nice deep tone that can only be heard when im really hammering it. any advice on which one to remove will be much appreciated. sound clips would be great also!

a muffler is there to reduce noise. understand that simply putting in a borla muffler wont make it sound like a proper 2.5 inch borla exhaust system.how bout welding or if ur really cheap clamping in a borla or a magnaflow muffler for sound
i have a trubednz borla and im welding a thrush glasspack in. SVT header to borla, 2.5" from header back. im putting in the exhuast today, waiting on a flex pipe to put the header on.
wish i had a dyno so i could make two seperate pulls one with just the cat back and one with caback and header.

this is how i look at it u spend 300 buck on a exhaust and only gain what
6hp thats like 50 bucks per 1 hp even if u gained 10 hp that still only 30 bucks per hp
only way a exhaust would truly help is if one had headers, orp or hi-flow cat
other than the 6-13hp u get from an exhaust by itself u get sound and thats it
its either go big or go home...............IMO.............
