I need to paint the resonator part of my exhaust, and I am wondering if I need to use a special kinda spray paint. If anyone knows, please let me know because I don't want any trouble or problems.

a high heat spray paint such as a bbq spray paint or similar would probably do the job

you can get a high temp spray from the autozone that withstands high temps. I am pretty sure that VHT makes a high temp paint as well.

does the resonator even get that hot? I spray mine with some generic satin black paint every now and again, but I don't prep it or try to do a nice job, so it never lasts, just a quick cheap detail thing when I'm in the mood.

get rust oluems hi temp paint, balck or silver will withstand 1200 degrees. home cheapo will have it.

paint it then take the car for a drive to warm up the exhaust and to bake it on.
