Hello again.
I just joined, and I hope you'll like my coach.
It's made in 2000 and by now I have about 160k miles on it (256.000km to be exact). Surprisingly it gave me absolutely no problems what so ever. I try to keep it neat, and tailored to my taste. Hopefully you'll like it.
I bought a new Mazda 3 last month but I am keeping my Focus, it deserves to be treated :)

So here are some exterior pics:

- white blinkers installed

- air resonator removed (nr.7)

- bit of scrubbing

- so fresh so clean

- engine bay art :)

- interior

- LED dome light

- one taken a year ago on autobahn (no speed limit), very good for 1.6 liter! cca. 131mph

- don't touch my car :)

- new OEM remote installed, along with OEM receiver module

Sound setup:

- removing old pionner speakers

Alpines are in rear doors, I have new Pioneer split system in front doors, also Pioneer HU, and Pyle woofer in bass reflex enclosure I made myself. Pictures will be posted tommorow, I don't have time now.

I'm amazed that it can go 210 km/h... mine can only go about 175 [facepalm]

Thank you. Well, any car can be in good condition, I'd say it depends on the owner :)
You also have 1.6 liter engines in Canada/US? Mainly the top speed problem is result of wheels dimension, I don't know if yours are original? If there is no problem with engine itself, or transmition, you should be able to go up to 200km/h (125mph) on straight road...
What is your consumption? I get average 7,5l/100km, that would be around 37mpg if I calculated correctly.

North America did not get the 1.6 - we got either a 2.0 or a 2.3

My wheels are not original, they're 17" instead of the standard 14". But I don't know if that has any effect on top speed. Maybe there is a secret limiter at 175 km/h! I should try a downhill road!! [driving]

I have never calculated my fuel consumption lol

any future plans for your car? I think you should lower it. I forgot to say - very cute dog!! I want one too. lol

Thank you Sailor! It was one of those rare moments when I get time to play with turtle wax and stuff like that :)

Here is one pic of my Mazda from little village in Croatia called Smiljan I visited yesterday (those of you who know about Nikola Tesla, this white house in the background is where he was born and raised):

Two years passed since my last post [scratch]
Mazda is unfortunately totaled, so I present my new car, Ford Focus mk3...

Very satisfied with the car.

I assume equipment is very common in US, but it is very rich for EU cars:
-auto a/c
-heated front&rear windshield
-heated mirrors, auto close, welcome lights
-cruise/speeed limiter
-park sensor
-6 speed manual
-last not least - 85kW diesel with 40 MPG

pics:

Plans, extra oem:
-PTC heater installation
-park pilot
-gps unit
-rimz for the summer
-open for idea's & suggestions :)

Landing the 300.000km (186.000m) mark on my old focus.
I love this car, so it is 17 years old and not a single malfunction to it !! (other than several headlight bulbs, only regular maintenance)

There is one thing I really have to mention, back in the days I bought the car, there was a shitty residue of lousy quality Ford had with euro "Escorts and Sierras".
I will never forget what I said to myself while leaving the auto store, driving the first corner and looking at the logo on the steering wheel: "The biggest mistake so far"...
Right now I'm saying "I am never selling this" :) :)

General failure on my 2013 Focus :(

Highway - I was on a business trip travelling from Prague Czech republic to Vienna Austria, and some nasty noise started to appear from under the hood.
Don't know how long it was lasting before I heard it because of loud music. It started something like squicking when a big rig shifts gears and maybe one mile later it started to sound like metal scraping on the road.
Normally I drive around 100mph on the highway so I was in the left lane passing a truck when all of a sudden my wheels blocked just like I stepped on brakes...
Fortunately there was no one behind me so I managed to exclude myself from traffic safely.
When stopped I couldn't move the car anymore, if I pressed the clutch I could start engine but as soon as I released the clutch motor stopped. No gears, only neutral (leer).
Car would not move.
Also fortunately car stopped on the exit of a gas station so I could have some coffee while waiting for tow.
When tow came, they got the car on the truck reversly because front wheels were blocked, winch simply couldn't pull it.

So, we got to service center and left the car in front of the gate at around 11pm.
End result - car has 60.000miles, and what happened is that bearing of the 6th gear fall apart. All the balls and other schrapenells ended up within gears resulting in the gearbox fall apart completely. Also the clutch is totaled together with flywheel.

I was about to put some pics od gears but not to complicate, just some saw dust or iron gravel from the gearbox mixed with oil :) lol

I decided to get rid of the Focus mk3 due to faulty gearbox.
New gearbox + repairs are around 8.000$

I will present new vehicle I ordered... it is Opel Astra. Price tag for this car was 29.000$
Very low consumption, I have 45MPG currently, mixed...

Yeah... that's really crazy.
But the worst part is the irony. Warranty claim was rejected because it is valid up to 60.000miles, car had 60.300 miles !!!!!

New Gearbox 5000$, new clutch+flywheel 2000$, labour 1000$... so I just sold the car to the dealership for some pocket change :(
