so i have two cars, one a 94 ford escort lx hatchback that i bought new monroe struts for, and have had them on it for about six months. would i be able to switch them over to a 2001 ford focus zx3 hatch? i am going to make the focus my daily driver, and ive already put new sway bars on it, im just unsure if i can put the struts as well. they look the same, and when i researched it, one website said that its possible.

what do you guys think

No, Ford Escort struts will NOT fit the Focus. The strut to spindle mount on the Escort uses 2 cross bolts whereas the Focus for the front the strut fits directly into a hole in the spindle and the rear uses a split shock-spring setup, in which the shock attaches to the trailing arm using 1 bolt. Also the strut bearing plate at the top of the strut is different, the Escort front struts use a 4 bolt mount whereas the Focus has a 3 bolt mount.

Struts are almost always car specific, they change up 500 different little things when they design a new car. When selling them I saw virtually none switch to other model cars.
