Just a thought exercise here...
I know the escape engines are practically the same and the escape auto transmissions don't suffer from the same issues as the turd of a transmission Ford put in the Focus (wet clutch vs dry clutch). Has anyone looked into swapping an Escape ATX into a Focus?
I'm not really looking for another project but I've seen some otherwise decent Focuses for practically free because their transmissions have failed. I'm not going to go through the effort to put another turd focus DCT in only to have it fail after a few thousand miles. This got me thinking that I wonder how big of a deal it would be to shoehorn an escape transmission in instead... I would assume there must be a major fitment issue or computer issue or I would have seen this done already on here. I don't know much at all about the escape so I don't know how stupid of an idea this is. I'm looking for thoughts and comments from those familiar with the escape at how feasible this might be...
