Hi, I'm experiencing some weird behavior from the two mentioned gauges.
The fuel low light first turned on, the the needle in the fuel gauge went to above full. The temp gauge also sits right below the red line, any ideas?
The car in question is a ford focus 1.6 2006 ghia.
Any help would be really appreciated, thanks.

We've had some problems with the electrical connections at the back of the gauge cluster. You might want to try that first before getting into the electrical. I would also take a very close look at the battery terminals specifically the negative terminal and any smaller ground wires that connect to that terminal. Do not simply visually look, but remove the terminals, clean, and check thoroughly before re-installing. If you're experiencing corrosion buildup, clean, then apply a coat of any kind of grease, wheel bearing for example, on the terminal before re-installing. It's not pretty, but it does prevent corrosion.
