I just had a spur of the moment thought.....would a 3.0 duratec v-6 fit as an engine swap into a foci with a 5 speed tranny? If so that would be an interesting combo.......[screwy]

yea it's possible..people have done the 2.5 svtc swap and the 3.0 SHO's so it is possible

how much you willing to spend??? lol If a 5.0 L v8 can fit, then that can fit. Will it mate to the standard zetec tranny though? the answer is no!!

It should fit. The 3.0l Duratec has the same dimensions as the 2.5l Duratec, and those are done.

My only problem with it is the aftermarket for those engines is slim. I thought about doing one, but then I realized I can get more power out of my 2.3l than out of a 3.0l (both being naturally aspirated) Granted, the 3.0l would be far less high strung, but I wanted max power.

that's true too..i looked into doing the early 3.0 Yamaha SHO swap but the aftermarket is slim for it, but i did find a website that sold some aftermarket stuff for it....but i'd stick with what you got and just mod that...i'd be cheaper and less of a hassle to deal with
