OK, i have googled and search but can't find the answer.

307320

What is this cover called (part number would be great) and is there some reason it is missing from most SVTs? Does it make it too hot or is it just a PITA to deal with? I would like to make my SVT as close to factory as possible and can't find anything about this. Is it unique to the SVT?

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Do what you want there but you need to know that heat buildup there is fierce and can lead to fires in some cases when the positive battery cable melts in the last 4 inches. The coil harness connection under it goes bad too.

I yanked mine and battery cover and problems gone.

Ya, Ford put those black plastic 'dress-up' covers on a bunch of things to give it a finished look, but the covers just cause problems down the road due to heat retention/heat fatigue issues. After replacing a few batteries, coolant outlets, and cracked coolant reservoirs, I threw out those covers; no more issues.
