Hi guys,
Electrics have been going weird in my focus 54 plate so I took it to the garage, after investigating they said I had a corroded wiring loom (760 quid to repair!) Apparently this is unheard of in a car so young so I rang the Ford mechanic and after complaining a bit he's said it's actually 2 corroded wires but they probably can't repair just them so they advise a new wiring loom. To me it seems a little weird, hope anyone has any experience in this area or similar stories or advise.

Would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Did the wire actually corode under the insulation? If it did I have seen this before. It is due to defective wire insulation. Water will get in there and corode the copper. I saw a couple of cars and trucks have this happen but cannot put any oe manufactureer ahead of the rest.
I have seen it happen to imports and domestic cars and trucks. It usualy makes for onw hell of a hard electrical problem to find.
