Hi Guys,

When I'm idling sometimes the engine almost dies, RPM goes down to 400-500 for a second or two, then immediately goes to normal.
Doesn't happen at every idle but like once a day, when gear is in park, drive, but mostly while in rear.
Otherwise the vehicle runs fine when driven.
It's a Focus 2012, 2.0 petrol, Auto. 180.000 km.


Any experience with this, what can it be?[]

I have similar and when cold will stall the engine. Ford mechanic says it’s common and is the 2 part flywheel springs going. Apparently the vibration sets off engine sensors that drop revs to stop what they see as knock, once you spin engine faster the flywheel settles and no problem anymore

It could be a number of things. My 5spd would stumble at times when I was rolling to a stop in neutral. I couldn't figure out the problem. I changed the upper O2 sensor because of a CEL, and I haven't felt that stumble again.
