Hi all,
TLDR; Does anyone have a recommendation of a wifi or bluetooth ELM327 reader, which works with the Mk1 Focus and the torque app?
I remember years ago struggling struggling to get an ELM 327 bluetooth / wifi module hooked up to our MK1.5 (2004) Focus. I gave up and returned several modules.
Looking at forum posts here and elsewhere it seems there was initially good compatibility between ELM327-based dongles and the Mk1, but that soon dropped off with clones not implementing some protocol properly.
In any event I'm perplexed. All those with a working setup seem to have a MK2 or newer Focus?

Alternatively, does anyone know of a ESP32 or similar project that achieves the same (though how an ELM327 would not need to be involved is beyond me)
I ask because I now run Home Assistant and have seen various projects to communicate car data from an ELM327 reader to my Home Assistant dashboard via MQTT
