I was driving my car yesterday and the battery light came on and stayed on unless the car was revved up to near red line. After revving the car that high, the light would come back on within about 30 seconds. I have had this problem before and I have replaced the alternator 2 times over the past 10 months. I really don't want to have to replace another alternator, any ideas on something else it might be? I already checked the battery terminals and the pigtail wire going into the back of the alternator appears to be intact. Switched batteries with another SVT and that also had no effect on the light. Also, no apparent damage to the alternator, the last one I had to replaced had charred wires. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
