Sunday was the 8th anniversary (or as someone said on facebook, Carniversary [giddy] ) of the day I bought Sonic. We had a Focus Rising Oklahoma G2G at Pole Position Raceway in OKC in the early afternoon and then on my drive home I stopped at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tulsa for a "carniversary photo shoot".

I've used this location before since I can take some shots with different backgrounds and also without being bothered. All I have is a point and shoot camera and my skills, well they suck, but I tried to get some different angles with the setting sun behind me. Also, in some of the pictures Sonic's a bit dusty and the barrell of the wheels got some tar slung on them during my 250 mile round trip drive to OKC that morning.

The full album is on my facebook: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/media/set/?set=a.10150291097982141.352387.816872140&type=1

Sadly, I missed my goal of hitting 200K on the 8th anniversary. I rolled over 194K on the way to OKC for the meet, but 200K will easily be obtained before the end of the year.

I love how stock your car looks.

Is that the Mustang/Focus aluminum fuel door? Was it a PITA to install?

I like to refer to it as OEM+ because it is definitely NOT stock, but you need to know your cars to spot the changes. The car doesn't look molested like a lot of modified cars tend to look.

Engine:
Amsoil Absolute Efficiency Air Filter
Focus Sport 8mm Blue Spark Plug Wires
VF Engineering Rear Engine Mount
"Big Three" Wiring Kit
Black Header Heat Shield

P-51 Rear Shock Shims
Auto-X-ZTS Adjustable 24mm Rear Sway Bar
Massive Adjustable Rear Toe Arms
Massive Adjustable Rear Camber Arms
Steeda Front Strut Tower Bar
Kosei K-1 Wheels (17x7.5 - 45mm)
225/45ZR17 Bridgestone Potenza RE740 Sports Tires
Centric Rotors with Hawk HPS Brake Pads

Interior:
Corbeau 4-Point Double Release Harness (autocross)
Steeda Tri-Ax/F Short Throw Shifter
Custom "Sonic" Shift Knob
Instrument Bezel and Stereo Bezel Painted Sonic Blue
Redline Tuning Dead Pedal
Redline Tuning SVT Floor Mats
Redline Tuning SVT Hatch Mat
Custom Video Camera Mount
Custom SVT Wheel Cigarette Lighter Plug
iPod Dash Mount with Wired FM Transmitter
Lumar 30% Window Tint

Exterior:

ZX3 SVT Sideskirts
2006 Focus Street Appearance Package rear diffuser
2001 Special Edition Mustang Aluminum Fuel Door Painted Sonic Blue

And no, the fuel door was not hard to install, just a little trimming of some mounting points and it bolts right in.

You sure did, missed it. Was that a pain to install? I know you have to modify the fuel neck.

More than every now and then. For the first 6 years I did about 10 events each year. These last two I haven't been to as many due to cost of tires and maintenance for the car.

Thanks Ryan, I appreciate it. I'll have a new mod on Sonic tomorrow as well. That is if it arrives by then. Something I've been wanting for a while now. :)

Yeah there's a few of us around. I've had my car since new; it's been just over 7 years now. It is getting ready to turn over 130,000 miles. It's still in really good condition. Currently, I put around 20,000 miles a year on it. I thought I drove a lot. It sounds like you drive more than I do though.

Ataru, glad to see you're keeping it in nice condition. How much longer do you plan on keeping it for?
