I may need a new ECU, my 05 zx3 has a vbt5 manual transmission. My question is, if I were to hypothetically buy a m/t ecu with a different code and upload my tune to that ecu would it work? What makes the ecu different besides the a/t vs m/t and the tune?

Usually call that trans an MTX-75.

Getting your keys programmed into the new ECU or swapping chips from keys that match the new one would be the first thing needed to make it work.

So I could just go to a junkyard and get a vbt4 or any other mtx75 ecu and put her in there, as long as I have the keys?
