Black goes to ground and red goes to anything with 12VDC(Fog lights, turn sigs or you can wire up something to turn it on and off using a switch in the cabin.
Advise you put 300 or 330 ohm/half watt resistor in series with red wire or your halo's may burn up in a few months.

I also just recently bought the same headlights - Mine came with directions to wire the halo's to the park/signal side marker lamp.

But I want to change my foglights so that they will turn on without the headlights being on. Can I do that easily?

Look in the How To section on the main page of this forum. It's on the left hand side. This a Fog Light Mod to allow you to turn on your fog lights without the HL's being on.

After installing the headlights, they seem it be a bit misdirected.
Did you have this problem?

They are aimed too high - The adjustor in the back of the housing seems to only move them left to right?

As dank said, the adjuster screw should move the HL up and down.
Turn the adjuster toward the driver side to make them go up and toward the passenger side to bring them down. It takes a lot of turns to see any adjustments.

Use the link below to help align your HL's. If the screw does not adjust the HL's, you may have a broken adjuster.
