I searched and have read up on it - generator/alternator problem possibly.

I have no electrical problems I know of - for a while last year, before the car went to storage for the winter, I had battery drain problems but I got a replacement from Ford and I figured out the problem - shorting from my XM radio. That was all addressed last fall

I just checked for codes after replacing the front O2 sensor - the Xcal2 spit out P1246 and nothing else AND there was no CEL - I was expecting no codes after switching the O2 sensor, so seeing this code was a suprise.

So, should it set off a CEL or not? Since I'm still under warranty, I think I might take it in to the dealer, but they are a bunch of tools regarding getting greasy pants and hands all over the interior - it's a PITA to clean up after them after every time I take it in.

Thanks

Some codes do not set the CEL unless they are seen consistently, to avoid false alarms for odd transients. Out of curiosity, if it is under warranty, shouldn't the O2 sensor have been covered?
