when i turn key to start car doors lock .can i unhook them.

What transmission do you have? On my wife's vehicle the doors lock when the trans is put into drive. On my car, the doors lock shortly after I start moving.

Ford locks the doors because a locked door provides like 15x the structural integrity of an unlocked door in an accident.

My close friend did not want her doors to lock, and the dealer was able to disable the feature. This was on a different brand of car. so i do not know if it is possible on a Ford.
She also changed the windows to be powered all the time, and not just when the ignition is on.
