Guys,

Everytime I turn the car on, it will stick around 1500 rpm and slowly drop once the engine warm up...

Sometime, when I put in the Neutral, it will stick a little on 1000 rpm.

Is it normal? or I should clean my TB?

Thanks,

Steven

but my friend said if you take the tps off... you are not going to be able to put it back on the way that tps will work correctly...

and some old guy in Advanceauto part said he would mess with the TB...

If you wanna clean it advance auto has TB cleaners available. But I think its a usual thing with foci's warming up. Mine does the same thing but it doesn’t bother me too much, just have to be careful on releasing the clutch when pulling out of the driveway!

You can safely clean it - there is a small amount of "special" coating on the butterfly edge to prevent sticking. But, TB cleaner will not remove this coating.

I've cleaned my recently and the throttle response is so much nicer. In fact I had sticking before the cleaning - none afterwards.

Make sure to take it off the manifold to properly clean the underside of the TB, which is always much worse.
