The only way to tune the cam gears correctly im my opinion is to have them done on a dyno

you do not need an excall, but it helps for datalogging.

It might not be a bad idea, when I degreed my cams my fuel mileage went WAY down, i think im going to go a little more mild on the degrees, IMO don't even get cam gears if you can't verify your adjustments on the dyno

if you dont change the setting, leave them at stock then no, but if you change the degree's then yea i would recommend getting a tune...but if you get cam's as well then i'd definitely get a tune

You won't really need the X-cal just to do cam gears. It wouldn't hurt. Dynotuning is expensive though, so you don't want to do it multiple times.
