Sorry to ask, My SVT had security device in the key, so ONLY the official recognized keys, (and NOT copies) could start the car and keep it running.
Or, has that been eliminated altogether with the lasercut key?
So only the key cut is a theft deterrent?
(along with the entry perimeter protection)
This is an SE, not a titanium with push botton start.

yes. but it is possible to get keys from 3rd parties, check ebay, plenty to go around.

you can't get an IA (intelligent access) key from anywhere but ford.. yet.

Great! the PATS system was in my old car keys.
I like it.
Losing a key is a pain.. but keeping the car from being stolen is good.
