i bought a high output alternator for my 06 ford focus zx3 2.0 manual and now my car stalls at idle i have an optima and the big 3 does anybody know whats going on

How many amp alternator is it? What is prolly happening is that its putting a lot more drag on the motor and causing the idle to drop so low that it stalls

might also be that the alt. doesnt kick in until it hits a higer rpm too.

a friend replaced his stock with a high output and it doesnt start charging until about 1100 rpm

so maybe you need to overdrive the alt pully

the pully has been changed 2 times and is now the size of my thumb across so i dont think it can get smaller they are telling me to get a smaller belt but mine doesnt seem to slip i dont understand whats happening i am getting really annoyed with the whole thing [mad] [chair]

have you had the car tuned yet? it could help with the rough idle, then with the power hungry new alt. it just drags the idle down even more causing the stall.
