Twice now I've delaminated brake pads. Anyone else experienced this? I just noticed my front pads were destroyed after 10k miles. Happened with both Hawk HPS and EBC yellow pads. I drive aggressively but not that much. Car is stick shift so I don't ride brakes like might be more apt with auto. No I won't believe any answer about brake fluid unless there is a compelling physical rationale. I'd pay credence to anyone who has experienced this and sorted it out. Otherwise I'll just be liberal with brake grease. And keep a keen eye on the pads. Wife thinks I'm getting counterfeit parts but don't believe that.

I've personally only seen that on very old, rusted ones put back into service.

Are they getting "cooked" from dragging?

The wheels spin freely and don't seem to be dragging or binding

I've had the same thing happen twice with Hawk pads… Fronts and rears, on my Protege… I just think their pads suck for daily use.. Maybe they're okay for the track, where you'll glaze them before they actually fail, but I have since been running OEM pads, and I haven't had an issue…
