Hi im having a problem with the lights on my dash where the speedometer, rev meter, temp gauge and petrol gauge are. ive replaced all the 5 bulbs for these and checked the fuses and they still wont come on. the smaller lights eg. main beam, indicator lights all seem to work just cant get the back lights to work- any ideas?

Yup - Got an idea - If your car is anything like ours, you have a variable resistor switch in the circuit to control the brightness of the lights. It's likely either unplugged (possible, but not likely) or faulty - not passing any current.

In SOME cases, it'll work at full brightness only, when the current is direct rather than going through the resistor portion of the switch.

Not a COMMON failure, but we HAVE seen it before...

Luck!

P.S. - Check for power at both sides of fuses to double check the circuit when testing....

Glad it worked - and the "scrappy" is certainly the CHEAPEST solution! (grin)

Cheers!
