Not sure if I'm in the right forum but I need a little help on removing the dash from my 01 wagon. Everything seems to be unbolted but the dash is still tight on the passenger side. I have been told that the airbag can stay until it's out and vice-a-versa. Any help would be most appreciated! [8D]

Unbolt the airbag from the crash bar. then It should come out.
Make sure your battery is disconnected first tho.

By the looks of it the airbag bolts are under the dashboard not above...and thx BL for putting it in the correct category.

Here are a number of threads I found helpful. I did this today. After I removed the two forward facing "gold" bolts from under the dash (02 SVT), I pried up the forward portion(windshield side) of the air bag cover. There are three clips holding the windshield side of the cover in place, one about 3.5 inches in from the corner closest to the center of the car, the second, about 7.5 inches to the right of the first, and the third, about half way around the curve on the passenger side (8+/- inches from #2). Once those are off, the side and rear (seat side) clips pop off quite easily. I can e-mail you photos if you wish. Good luck

Don't pull out the passenger airbag

I have removed my dash at least 5 times, and I did it all the hard way because I didn't realize you could remove the dash with the core support.

You do need to disconnect all wiring from the dash to the chassis, including the ECU wiring.

Double check the gold bolts where the dash support connects to the car. There's some by the shifter by the triangle brackets, 2 at each side A Pillar under some plastic, and one on the driver side under a round cap.

If all those gold bolts are out it's most likely the wiring.

Dash is out! I ended up rolling the dash forward with the reinforcement bar and then took the bolts out to the cover of the airbag, then the airbag itself. So both pieces are available for purchase if anyone is interested.

Thanks again for all the help guys, will rep all! [cheers]
