So today I went to the junk yard and found that the newer Cougar has similar gauges as the Focus. The back was grey and the needles were different. I liked the look of them. I got them brought them home and took it apart. The surround wont fit but the back is the same although there is a extra plug on the back from the Cougar, I guess it goes to the other lcd.

After taking it apart, I took the background off of the plastic and sanded the green off so that I can convert it to blue.

Then I put it all back together. I had to cover the hole where the other lcd was and pull out the bulb for the shift light. There also was not a hole for the trip reset so I had to cut one. Here's the finished product:

Oops I meant Gauge Swap. I don't think I can change the title.
Thanks. I don't care for the look of reverse glow. So I thought it would be a good mod.

Here's what it looks like now. (Of course I still need to calibrate the needles.)

oh just noticed that the new spedo goes up to 150 and stock is 140... are all the numbers in the same places as stock?
They start in the same spot. I think they are a little closer together. Not that big a deal. It wont be that far off unless I am going over 100 and I don't think that will be happening, at least not anytime soon [driving]

Just from eyeballing your pictures, if you think you're going 80, you'll actually be closer to 75. So no need to worry about speeding tickets, only angry drivers. You could do the math in your head (75/80=% to calculate by), but that'd suck.

The thing I'd be worried about is the tach. You're going to be at ~87.5% of the RPMs your gauge says, so shifting is going to get a bit confusing. 4375 (actual) ≠ 5000 (read).

EDIT - 75/80 = .9375, so ~94-95% of your read speed is your actual speed. So 30 would actually be 28, 45 is actually 42, 65 is closer to 60, etc. Nothing harmful, would just make your brain hurt.

It's disappointing to find out Ford used the same cluster on both cars. It's this kind of cost cutting that makes the interior of American cars companies the laughing stock of the global auto industry.

I'll still love my Ford, though. Long live the SVT.

When I had my Toyota Pickup I swaped out the gauges from a Lexus. They do the same type of stuff. How much stuff from a Civic can fit into a Integra?

Yeah I have not drove it enough to tell if it is off yet or not. But I did take the whole panel with the drivers not just the face of the gauges so maybe it will work. I'll keep you updated.
