Hey,
In another thread I have going I installed my 4-2-1 header and after 47 miles got a CEL which is p0171

While looking for a possible vacuum leak,I noticed again the oil laying on top of the newly powder coated valve cover we installed from a Ford Contour.
I bought the valve cover off here with a new gasket right out of the BST thread.
This morning I pulled spark plug boot number 2,only to find it is full of oil.
Covered,cant even see the plug(s)
I think I found the culprit for a misfire which may have thrown the CEL.
Either the gasket didn't seal right or we over torqued the bolts.
My Questions:
What is the proper year gasket for the Contour valve cover swap?
In the other thread I was quoted 5 ft lbs for the proper torque setting....can anyone else confirm this?

Did some digging I think its a 96 Gasket.
Can someone confirm this?

You'll need the gasket for the first gen. Contour; '95 - '97. You can generally find them for around $15 - $20.

EDIT: You'll also need the oil cap from a Contour as well, as the one for the Focus won't fit.
