This may be an easy answer but I have been searching in vain trying to found out if the 2001 SOHC and DOHC Focus engines use the same connecting rod. My searches so far say probably Yes but I need to verify. A stupid mistake by yourstruly requires me to get new rods for the 2001 Zetek I am rebuilding.
Thanks for any input!
Cheers!

Likely not. I found that the rod length is different, so is the compression height. Zetec rods earlier than '98 are different from zetec of '98 and later too.

Check 2.0 CVH (SOHC) against 2.0 zetec there. Looks like rod journal size may have changed too, I found that elsewhere.

Thanks for this information, amc49. This gives me more to work with especially knowing the 95-04 Zetecs are the same. Now to find a source!

Cheers!

95-04 zetecs are NOT the same, I just told you that. The rods alone changed length to match a changed piston height and only one of many differences, the front cam timing gear, mount, water pump are wildly different too. You have to read footnotes 7 and 8.

Sorry, Missed the footnotes. My wife tells me I don't listen very well too.
Thanks.
