My SVT died and I got into it today and it appears to be a rod bearing or the rod to be broke because the piston head connected pretty good with the spark plug.
Now I have a couple questions, should I get a rebuilt motor and replace the whole thing or just replace the bearings and piston?
And if just the bearings and piston, where can I find them?
Any help or advice would be awesome. I just had my timing belt and water pump done like 2 weeks ago, so this is getting pretty outrageously expensive.
Thanks!

If a piston hit a plug, sorry to say but you'll be needing new valves too.

I'd have to think the timing belt is the cause and not a bearing.

I guess I'd start shopping for a new/used engine vs rebuilding one. Might get lucky and find one, and it should be cheaper than a rebuild.

If you piston hit the spk plug then you bearing went out and killed the crank shaft , rod , piston , more then likely bent valves and on and on

A rebuilt engine or used would be your best bet if you dont have the ability to build it your self
