I have a 2003 Zx3 and am replacing my clutch. Getting ready to begin this process I realized that I bought the wrong flywheel. Can I still replace my clutch without a brand new flywheel? From what I can tell my flywheel isn’t bad, I just felt that since I was under there I might as well replace it.

As a curiosity, what mileage do you guys get of a clutch (sorry to derail a bit)?
I ask because my first one lasted about 40k miles.

But subsequent ones have not lasted near as much.
20k or so. I suspect the original one was better spec. As for the current ones it's the same part they use in the Brazilian Ford Ecosport.

It's always an expensive replacement so I saw the thread and figured I'd ask.

I suppose it ranges anywhere from 30,000 miles to 100,000 miles depending on how good you are with it as well as the quality of the clutch you buy.

I swap them at the dealer, it's an OEM part supposedly, but I haven't actually checked.
Next time I'm there I'll ask for sure.
