I'm replacing the leaking clutch slave cylinder on my mk3 5-sp manual. The new slave cylinder throwout bearing does not look centered on the axis of the input shaft for the transmission. I measured a few spots with a caliper and found its definitely not centered.

I ordered a second one and its has the same problem and is out the same amount. Probably about 1mm offset.

I've heard self-centering bearings look like this but I have serious doubts this is one of those.

Would you install either of these?

If it is just because the faceplate is not loaded it may be all right. Push the wear surface down against rest of bearing and see if it tries to center up better. If not the face may be machined out of concentric to the bore and cheap crap Chinese part. Would maybe work but the out of round may cause vibration when you use it. Won't help pressure plate finger wear.
