While driving my 04SVT I heard something snap when I pressed down on the clutch. I was nervous about shifting gears when it happened, but everything was fine. When I got home a spring was laying on the floor mat. So 6 bucks later I bought a new spring. When I went to replace it, I could see where the top of the spring mounted to the top of the clutch pedal. But I could not find where it mounted on the bottom. Any ideas? Do I have to remove the pedal assembly? Thank you.

It hooks to a little tab with a slot in it that is right were the pedal support bolts to the firewall. You may be able yo get it hook in by just loosening the pedal support nuts so that is can pull away from the firewall a bit.

This isnt my video and the music is awful but it does show where the spring connects to the pedal support:

Good luck

Finally got motivated to change the spring. Difficult to get to, work by feel to get it connected. My advice, if you change your clutch master cylinder, change the spring too.
