So i was driving the other night, and all of a sudden my clutch started going straight to the floor, and i couldnt get it into gear. i pulled over and looked at the pedal and the white plunger? had broken in half (see picture). Does anyone know what the technical name for the part is? Can i get just that part, or do i have to get a new master cylinder? any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you will have to get a whole new master cylinder.

thats not my car, it was the only picture i could find of the actual piece. im not leaking fluid or ne thing like that

oh I see. I would think that you would have to replace the whole thing. but I aint sure.

thats what i was afraid of, dont know why ford would make that piece out of plastic to begin with.

hey i drive an 02 Focus svt and my clutch is leaking from that very spot (little white piece of plastic) and i was just seing what is the best way to fix that

yes that is the Clutch master Cylinder

it goes for no more than 30 bucks at your local Autozone. But be-ware if your not car savy... take it in to a shop. im working on it right now and have to wait till morning to do so, cause i didnt know what i was getting into. ,lol but who knows...you might be quicker than me. hope this helps

finished the install last night took about 5 hours, some blood, sweat, and tears, but i got it done. took for ever to find the clutch bleeding screw lol.

yeah it cost me like $200 at the dealership to have it done, unfortunatly I was in a place where I couldnt do it myself, so I had to pay for it to be done and got screwed as a result.
